Couples and Money: A Powerful Approach to Turning Money Conflict Into Secure Connection
Money can be one of the biggest sources of tension in a relationship. I work with couples to turn those stressful conversations about spending, saving, fairness, or debt into opportunities for deeper connection and understanding. My focus is on helping you and your partner find healthier ways to talk about money, increase trust, reduce conflict, and build a lasting, positive relationship.

My Approach

I specialize in helping couples understand both the emotional and practical financial challenges in your conflict over money. A common belief is that all that's needed is an agreement on a budget, savings plan or some other financial tool. Unfortunately, this is at best a short term fix, and frequently no fix at all. I will help you to go deeper to understand the emotional triggers we all carry around money and how these feed the conflict between you and your partner.

My approach is holistic. I draw on my training as a Licensed Social Worker, Certified Financial Therapist, Certified Financial Social Worker, and training in a range therapeutic approaches. I mix this with the wisdom gained from years of professional and personal experience. I understand that money is never just about dollars and cents, it is tied to emotions, identity, and life’s pivotal moments.

In our work together, I provide an opportunity to understand not only how each partner approaches money, but also how to move forward as a team. Many couples find that for the first time in their relationship, they can talk about money in a way that builds trust, reduces conflict, and strengthens their connection.
